Old news to some, but I just finished reading it. Boring as fuck.

> And don't give me some bullshit about them not having the means to verify every video uploaded to YouTube prior to publishing it (at least for new/untrusted accounts; trusted accounts could be post-screened), or manually blacklisting/whitelisting domains on their search engine, or at least having properly trained support people available who listen to you and who can escalate serious issues; they have the resources, and there shouldn't be any question about it. The only reason they continue with their sickening practices is that they are allowed to. And if they couldn't do it while still making a profit, who gives a shit? I sure as hell don't care about them making a profit by ignoring common decency.

Jesus fuck.

> I'm aware of how most/all companies work.
Sit back, infinitely knowledgeable Kimmo is about to dispense some serious info.

> The reason I'm not writing about BP or something like that, is that anyone with half a brain already knows that they are evil, whereas Google controls the digital world to such an extreme degree, doing such awful things, while being cheered on by the lobotomized sheeple (no offence)
WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

> Their newspeak-esque motto, "Don't be evil"
Shouldn't it be "Don't be doubleplus ungood" then? How is "Don't be evil" newspeak-esque?

> It's the many little things. They are difficult to summarize and describe to somebody who thinks that this is a "paranoid delusion"
I wonder if he has to qualify a lot of his statements like this?

From YouTube existing solely to violate copyright, to the excuses for using Gmail, to the crazy and often contradictory Kimmo logic - this is all good stuff. A little more rage would have been nice, but it was a fun read nonetheless.

Isn't Google evil?
Microsoft always seemed like bros compared to Google.

The paranoia is all there, sure, but the Kimmo feel (i.e. the rage) is what makes it from being lulzworthy and instead very mildly entertaining. Maybe leave it for a long train ride or something.

Microsoft never really seemed evil to me, just a bit full of themselves. Windows gave you the freedom to do what you want to/with your pc. Until WGA came along anyway, and then the Vista fiasco and the incessant warning messages on 7. That falls into the categories of adapting to a new age of digital sharing, trying to rebuild from scratch, and keeping people safe from the ever-increasing barrage of malware. Macs on the other hand... I've been in an art class where my teacher literally locked me out of every program except photoshop and illustrator. It's all there on the dock, but if you open it you get "Error: You do not have permissions to access this application."

Google now requires a google account in order to log into youtube, even if your youtube account predates the new sign-up process. Draconian control much?
