Although it sounds really unlikely. We'll see what happens in April.

That's cool and all, but the quality of comic adaptations seems to be permanently declining.
IMO they should do Teen Titans or Dr. Strange or drop this whole thing for a while since both Thor and that Green Latern thing were incredibly forgettable.

At least they will finish it out with this before it's entirely jumped the shark. Less spin-offs, just finish what they began. Reboots of franchises are even worse (given they are re-making Spider Man entirely). Filmmakers should focus on new concepts rather than re-hashing old ones.

Thor was okay. It had potential but it really drowned in a sea of these spin-offs... I didn't even see Green Lantern. Did not care.

The cameos just really need to stop because they never seem to end. There needs to be a stopping point.

Thor wasn't too bad though he wasn't the best character for a movie adaption. I actually fell asleep watching the Green Lantern movie in theaters.

> IMO they should do Teen Titans or Dr. Strange
TT are just too second string to do a movie on, it would require cameos by characters like Aquaman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow and Superman if it were to be any decent. Most of those characters haven't even had their own movie yet.

Dr. Strange could have potential but he's so out of this world it might wind up being another Thor type movie that relies too much on special effects. There already is a Dr. Strange animated film but I haven't seen it yet because I don't really enjoy cartoons.

While some of those sound like good choices, it's really best to look to other characters individually even though it has been done to death.

I kept saying for a long time that The Flash would be a pretty good choice. I thought Ryan Reynolds would have made a good Wally West but he has already appeared as two comic book characters. We can strike him from the list.

The best way to keep making these superhero films is to use characters that have not been touched... But you have to consider which ones are mainstream enough to bring in an audience that would care to see such a film anyway.

I think a Flash movie might work though he kind of is a dull character IMO. His rogue gallery is pretty forgettable too.

I think maybe a Jason Blood movie could be promising if done right like how Marvel did the first Blade movie. Dark and not meant to be an all ages film. He's a unique character and he doesn't scream boring superhero he also is a modern age hero so the movie isn't going to be Jonah Hex 2 that's doomed from the start. I don't know why DC thought a western comic movie would be successful. What's next Enemy Ace, the Haunted Tank?

There's been talks of a The Darkness film... I really think it could work well within the whole mafia drama/superhero genre. If it was written properly and with the right cast/story it could be really awesome.

I hope the Deadpool movie works out. If it's done right, it'd be brilliant.

@previous (A)
Yeah, I could see a Darkness movie working.

While a Deadpool film would be great, they'd really have to make it tongue-in-cheek and I think without the previous knowledge of how the character breaks the fourth wall, it might really confuse test audiences. If they did do that then either it would be "lol wtf" for most or just a nod to real fans (and I would assume they would be disappointed by that fact). I can't remember, did they do anything like that with his appearance in Wolverine?

> I hope the Deadpool movie works out. If it's done right, it'd be brilliant.

Deadpool is a fucking HORRIBLE 1-dimensional character whose only gotten mainstream appeal thanks to his appearance in Wolverine Origins and all the "xD so randumb" kids starting to get into him for God knows why.

He's just Spiderman with guns and yucky 90s X-book cliches. There was a funny image I used to have that was a basic Deadpool script.

> hello i am the deadpool XD what will i do today?
> i will go to the warehouse and meet wolverine

wolverine: hello deadpool, do you have the files...

> no hahah i will now kill you!!!

wolverine: omg that was not the deal!! *snikt*

> HAHAH I AM THE DEADPOOL!

I'm sure the storywriters would give him more depth than that...

Then again, they would probably screw it up. There aren't too many characters to choose from. As much as I would like Aquaman to have his own feature film, the fact that he is so ingrained in everyone's minds to be a joke character will never give him the ability to make a good comeback. Even that cancelled TV show of his went to shit.

I think that they'd be subtle about it, and not overdo it, like in the comics. Just something to show that this guy ain't the average comic book character.

@160,980 (C)
I don't think that he's meant to be taken too seriously. He does have a backstory and emotional conflict and all that, but overall he's just a comedic take on comic book characters.
